Ziering Medical

Dr. Craig Ziering is a highly experienced hair transplant surgeon with over 35 years in the field. He earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University and completed his residency in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at Ohio University's Grandview Medical Center. Dr. Ziering further honed his skills with a fellowship in hair restoration, eventually becoming the Associate Medical Director at Medical Hair Restoration for a decade before founding Ziering Medical. He is board-certified by both the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. Dr. Ziering has pioneered innovative techniques, including the Ziering Whorl classification system, which earned him the "Most Original New Idea" award from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS) in 2003. He is a past President of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and serves on the faculty for several prestigious universities, including the University of California at Irvine. Dr. Ziering is also a frequent lecturer and has appeared on numerous television programs discussing hair restoration.

Dr. Rae Lynne Kinler is a highly skilled hair transplant surgeon with a strong educational background. She attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean, followed by a General Surgery Residency at Waterbury Hospital and a Trauma Fellowship at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Kinler further specialized by completing an Aesthetic Medicine Fellowship and a dedicated Hair Restoration Surgery Fellowship under Dr. Craig Ziering himself. This specialized training has made her proficient in advanced techniques such as Follicular Unit Excision (FUE), including manual FUE and ARTAS Robotic procedures, as well as Microscopically Dissected Elliptical Excision (MDEE®). Dr. Kinler has also been involved in the research and development of Restoration Robotics and is invited to lecture for the company. Beyond her medical expertise, she is known for her athletic dedication, having completed multiple marathons and triathlons.

Dr. Michelle Elway is a qualified dermatologist with board certifications from the American Osteopathic Association and the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. She is associated with Ziering Medical, a renowned hair restoration facility, where she participates in advanced procedures like Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) surgery. Dr. Elway utilizes specialized instrumentation in her practice, contributing to the precise extraction of follicular units with minimal damage to the surrounding scalp. Her work at Ziering Medical involves performing FUE surgeries to address hair loss, often in multiple sessions to optimize results.

Dr. James Calder is the Medical Director of Ziering Medical's Newport Beach office. He graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in 1983. Dr. Calder's career in hair restoration began in 1999 with a formal preceptorship, and he has since dedicated 20 years exclusively to this field. He is proficient in various hair restoration techniques, including FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), facial hair transplants (eyebrow and beard), and hairline reconstruction. Dr. Calder also has experience with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and other cell-based therapies for hair loss. He is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Known for his meticulous nature and aesthetic sense, Dr. Calder aims to provide patients with the latest medical and surgical techniques to optimize outcomes.
