Shapiro Medical Group

Dr. Ronald Shapiro is the Medical Director of Shapiro Medical Group, where he performs follicular unit hair transplantation, including microscopic follicular unit transplantation and FUE. In 2003 and 2010 he co-authored the medical textbook Hair Transplantation, 4th Edition, and he has lectured and performed live surgical demonstrations at more than 40 conferences in more than 25 cities. He also holds a teaching appointment with the University of Minnesota Department of Dermatology, where he lectures residents on the procedures he performs.

Dr. Paul Shapiro has dedicated over a decade to hair transplantation, training and working closely with his brother, Dr. Ron Shapiro. He holds a position as Assistant Medical Director at Shapiro Medical Group and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Hair Transplantation. Dr. Shapiro is also recognized for his memberships in the European Society of Hair Transplantation and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. His contributions to the field include publishing articles on hair transplantation and cosmetic fillers, and he has been invited to lecture and demonstrate advanced surgical techniques at conferences globally. Notably, Dr. Shapiro was among the first physicians in the U.S. to become a Diplomat of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery in 1997 and was the first physician to perform a live surgery demonstration of Microscopic Follicular Unit Transplantation at an ISHRS annual meeting. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Instructor at the University of Minnesota Department of Dermatology, where he lectures to residents on surgical procedures.

David Josephitis, D.O., is a hair transplant surgeon at Shapiro Medical Group in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which he joined in 2013, and serves as Director of the FUE Program. He performs microscopic follicular unit transplantation and follicular unit extraction, and has treated hair loss in men and women in the U.S. for several years. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, spent a year at the University of Amsterdam studying biology and foreign studies, and received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; after an internal medicine residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, he completed a fellowship in hair transplantation surgery. He has lectured and performed hair restoration procedures at live surgery workshops.
