Dr. Jeffrey Rawnsley
Dr. Jeffrey Rawnsley performs follicular unit hair transplantation, having worked in the field for over ten years, and he trained in facial plastic surgery and microsurgery. He handles all aspects of each procedure himself without other physicians involved, schedules one hair restoration case per day, and takes on corrective work to address results from earlier procedures performed elsewhere. In planning hairlines he accounts for hair directionality, the fineness of hair at the frontal hairline, and natural micro-variations, and he developed a technique he calls saline supertumescence, which temporarily expands the scalp to allow denser packing of grafts. He carries out his hair restoration procedures in a surgical center at UCLA, stays involved from the initial consultation through follow-ups during recovery, and lectures to other medical professionals on hair restoration.
