Nikolajs Lapins, M.D.
The professional background of Dr. Nikolajs Lapins includes extensive training and experience in dermatology. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed his dermatology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. Dr. Lapins further specialized with fellowships in dermatopathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery at the University of California San Francisco. He holds board certifications in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. Dr. Lapins was recognized as the first Mohs surgeon in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and served as chief of dermatologic surgery at Letterman Army Medical Center before retiring as a colonel. He also holds a position as a full clinical professor in the dermatology department at the University of California San Francisco and is a member of numerous local and national medical organizations.
