Dr. Robin Unger

Dr. Robin Unger runs a New York City practice dedicated exclusively to hair restoration, treating both men and women with hair loss. She performs all stages of hair transplant surgery personally with staff assistance, including designing the recipient zone, donor excision, suturing, making each recipient site, and participating in graft preparation and placement, and she operates on one patient per day. Hair taken from the permanent donor rim is transplanted to recreate hairlines, crowns, temple hair, sideburns, and sometimes eyebrows, for patients with pattern hair loss as well as hair loss following surgery or from some diseases. She teaches hair restoration surgery to residents and fellows as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the department of dermatology at Mt Sinai Hospital, and previously shared the practice with her father and mentor, Dr. Walter Unger. She is a co-editor of the textbook Hair Transplantation and has written chapters and articles on hair restoration surgery.
