Dr. Valerie Callender
Dr. Valerie Callender is a distinguished, board-certified dermatologist with extensive experience in managing hair loss, particularly in women, and treating pigmentation disorders. She earned her medical degree and completed her residency at Howard University, where she continues to serve as a Professor of Dermatology at the College of Medicine. Dr. Callender is widely recognized for her innovative and compassionate approach to dermatological care. Her professional leadership includes serving as Past President for both the Women's Dermatologic Society and the Skin of Color Society, and she is the current President of the American Dermatological Association. She has also served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Callender's accomplishments have been acknowledged with several accolades, such as the Women's Dermatologic Society President's Award, the Mentor of the Year Award, and the Dermatology Foundation's Clark W. Finnerud Award. Furthermore, she is the Founder and Medical Director of the Callender Dermatology & Cosmetic Center and the Founder and Principal Investigator for the Callender Center for Clinical Research. Dr. Callender has also participated in numerous clinical trials for various cosmetic and medical products, giving her significant insight into the latest advancements in aesthetic treatments.
