Dr. Anastasios Vekris is a plastic surgeon and the founder and scientific director of Advanced Hair Clinics in Athens. He performs hair transplantation using the follicular unit extraction (FUE) technique, including eyebrow, beard and body hair procedures, as well as restoration of scarring from earlier FUT or strip surgeries. He completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Ioannina and trained in alopecia restoration surgery and hair transplantation abroad, including under Dr. J.C. Kim at KNU University Hospital in South Korea and further study in London and San Francisco. He has worked with the FUE technique for more than 20 years and has taught the method to doctors and nurses in Greece and other countries.

FUE
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a minimally invasive hair transplant technique where individual hair follicles are extracted one by one from the donor area using a small circular punch tool. The harvested follicles are then carefully implanted into the balding or thinning areas of the scalp. This method leaves tiny, nearly invisible scars rather than a linear scar, resulting in faster healing and the ability to wear shorter hairstyles. Because of this, FUE is the most popular hair transplant technique today.
